The Home on the Cliff
We’re thrilled to share the story of one of our latest projects, a unique build for an awesome Texas family. This journey was all about turning challenges into opportunities and creating a home that fits their vision and lifestyle.
The Perfect Spot
The family came to us after purchasing land in the Mountain Lakes subdivision, with a beautiful, narrow strip of land. They really wanted to use a narrow strip of the land for their homesite, as it offered breathtaking views. The challenge? Making it all work on such a narrow lot. But if there’s one thing we love at TTB, it’s a good challenge!
Laying the Groundwork
We kicked things off last summer by building the pad site. It was a hot one, but the progress we made was worth every drop of sweat. The next step was to figure out what kind of house would fit perfectly on this unique plot, capturing those stunning views they loved so much.
Designing with Care
With the family living far away from the build site, communication was key. Through video calls and texts, we worked closely to find a floorplan that met all their needs. Their input was invaluable, and we were happy to accommodate their every request.
The result? A stunning 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home with plenty of windows to let in that beautiful Texas sunshine. The house features a single slope roof, giving it a sleek mid-century modern look with a touch of farmhouse charm—especially with that gorgeous farmhouse sink in the kitchen!
Adding Personal Touches
Understanding the family’s faith was important to us. We converted a pantry into a peaceful prayer room and made sure the cooktop faced the way they wanted. We even installed intentional lights to highlight pictures and art that will hang on their walls in certain locations, adding a personal touch to their new home.
Room for Everyone
With family being of utmost importance, we included two master suites and two offices to create the ultimate multi-generational family set up. This ensures that everyone has their own space, while still feeling connected and comfortable.
Making It Work
Building on a narrow lot came with its challenges, but our team loves turning obstacles into opportunities. By being flexible and creative, we made sure the house not only fit the land but also exceeded the family’s expectations.
